One of the main barriers of body acceptance and learning to love your curves is the dreaded girl-to-girl comparison. I was so nervous about going out with a big group of girls this weekend, because I couldn’t help but worry how I would compare. “This girl is skinnier than me, that girl has bigger boobs. I feel fat compared to her.” The second you let yourself think these thoughts, you lose your confidence and ruin your own fun time by comparing yourself to people with totally different genes, body types, etc. I decided to let go of my comparison pattern and focus on feeling good about myself, and noticing all the positive traits of the other girls. Instead of comparing myself to them, I accepted that all girls are different and have unique curves, and because of that I ended up having a great time!
